08/16/11- Paula's Eating/Exercise Journal: Tuesday

Will weighted gloves improve your cardio exertion?  I have a pair of gloves that weighs 2 lb. each and fit on your hands like a glove (literally).

Wearing them will increase your heart rate which causes higher calorie burn.  Wearing the weighted gloves while doing aerobics, kickboxing or run/walking will promote muscle growth in your biceps, shoulders, and lats.

The issue to watch out for is to be aware of your form, because the added weight could increase your chance of injury.  If your running or speed walking with them on, extend your elbow joint out of the bent position periodically to keep your joint from feeling stressed, especially if you’ve never worn them.

Any changes that you make to your exercise routine can help you from hitting an exercise plateau.  Try weighted gloves for a more fit physique.
